Monday Minute View from North Carolina

A Monday in our line of work ((since Matt and I are not only husband and wife but also co-workers)) can either find us at our home office in Fairfax, at a team meeting somewhere in Eastern Virginia, on campus or in a different state for seminary. Today’s “office” day lands us in North Carolina for seminary, which makes for a very full, but interesting work week.

I love the flexibility of our work that allows us to learn alongside our job, and not only that, but keeps us moving–never at one desk or workspace all the time. Traveling 6 1/2 hours for class is not exactly my cup of tea (or preferably coffee) but I love that while we’re in class we can stay with some of the McCrory clan and get some good family time in. Tonight was wings for dinner with 3 of Matt’s uncles and their families!

October is a fun month because the leaves begin to change colors, it starts to feel a lot like fall and we have a bit more free time, so there’s many good things to look forward to. Here are 10 that we’re excited for in the week ahead:

Fairfax’s Fall Festival happening on Saturday–400 crafters and vendors make this girl super happy

My family AND Matt’s family visiting
this weekend, which means a very fun meal all together and many fall activities

Apple picking
on Saturday because you know I’ve been waiting all year to make apple pie

The Preaching & Teaching class
we’re taking this week/semester

The abs class at the gym
that I took last week that has made my abs hurt ever since, but means its so worth it to do it again

The Food Network shows
in Halloween mode, especially the Halloween Baking Championship

Our first Friday night off
since August 14th because #ivstafflife during NSO

The sweaters
I’ll get to pull out of hiding now that it’s cold enough to wear them

Having a clean house
because we always feel the need to clean before family comes into town

A long walk outside
now that all the craziness of hurricane #joaquin has passed 😉

Thats a Monday minute view of what we’re excited for this week. What are you looking forward to in the week ahead?
