I figure with today being September 1st, my itch for autumn is just dying to come out, so I had better document the summer while it’s still fresh in our minds.
This summer flew by for us. It was the first summer I was ever pregnant and also one where I decided to be more present in person and less present on social media, hence my abundance of beautiful summer pics that never made it to insta. But a first pregnancy feels like it must be documented, so I’m excited, one day, to show our son this post and share with him about that first sweltering summer as his pregnant mama and proud papa.
This summer included a few trips here and there, preparing the house for Baby Boy’s arrival and a surprise bathroom renovation we didn’t intend to take on but are really glad we did. We have some amazing family and friends who have helped us get ready for sweet boy’s birth and it’s been a joy to slow down this summer and take in all that it means to be parents. We even took a 12 week birth class that I will share all about in another post, but let me just say, I used to be terrified of labor and now I’m not. 🙂
Between Myrtle Beach, Asheville, Suffolk, Lake Anna and Cape May, this was our most restful summer yet. And I must say that being in the second trimester for most of summer felt like such a gift. Only 7 more weeks until Baby Boy’s due date and we get to meet our little pumpkin. We’re ready.
Farewell summer and hello all things Fall 🙂
